The aim of the European Virus Archive project is to create and mobilise a European network of high calibre centres with the appropriate expertise, to collect, amplify, characterise, standardise, authenticate, distribute and track, mammalian and other exotic viruses. The EVA project is establishing a web-based catalogue to advertise and distribute viruses in the collection as well as associated products. In addition the EVA network also produce associated reagents on demand, to laboratories throughout Europe and also worldwide.

Terms of access to the EVA resources

Access to the EVA products is organized for external users both from the academic and industrial community via a unique entry point: the EVA Portal.


Our catalogue of products is available online from the "EVA Portal tab" of the website. You can also reach the EVA Portal from the following button:

To place an Enquiry from the EVA Portal, you’ll need to create an account on the Portal area. You can create your account by clicking on the "create an account" link available from any page of the portal and from the following link:

NEW ACCOUNT CREATION FORM.

You will be asked your contact details (name, surname, name and address of your institution, telephone number…) .

To place an enquiry, simply add the products of interest in your cart and follow the steps. To complete your enquiry, on the final step, you’ll need to carefully read the Terms and conditions and tick the box : “I agree to the Terms and Conditions of Supply of Products and accept the Pricing Policy of the EVA Portal”.

Once your enquiry is received, you will be contacted by an EVA representative to confirm whether or not your request for a product can be converted into an order.

If the order proves to be possible you will be requested to provide the following documents (scanned copies of the signed documents will be satisfactory)

- A Technical annex document including a short description of the work that you intend to carry out, using the resources provided to you by EVA from the following link:

- Your end-user qualification form assessing your suitability as the end user, for receipt and manipulation of the category of virus corresponding to your order

For biosecurity reasons, EVA will review these documents. and may request the assistance of the National security agency in this review procedure.

If these steps prove to be satisfactory and are then validated, your order will be accepted.

In specific cases you may be asked to sign a Material Transfer Agreement. You will find below an example of this document that would be adapted to your specific situation.
